Monica Basile, PhD (she/her) is an artist and illustrator, as well as a Certified Professional Midwife, Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master-Teacher, and professor of gender, women's and sexuality studies living in Iowa City. You can find her at ravenandmagnolia.com and mapleseedbirth.com.
Jered Camp grew up in Utah around farm animals and participated in 4-H. He co-founded the Iowa Farm Sanctuary with his wife Shawn Camp and is a Paramedic Field Supervisor for Johnson County Ambulance Service.
Lea Haravon Collins visited (and took a selfie with) her Mom, Alda Haravon, every day until Covid prevented in-person visits, at which point they transitioned to Facetime. Alda passed on November 10th, 2020.
Anna Geyer farms alongside her husband Dave near Oxford, IA. She is transitioning parts of the farm from traditional crops to agroforestry, including willow, elderberries, and hazelnuts; reestablishing wetlands; and planting native species. Anna runs Land Alliance Folk School & Retreat Ctr
Shalisa Gladney is dedicated to addressing and ending violence within Black communities, engaging individuals in community activism and advocacy work, and creating programming that centers holistic and restorative healing practices. Her paid and unpaid labor as a community engagement specialist, board member, and birth/ death doula, reflects this dedication.
Sarah Haroun works as a Problem Management Plus community facilitator in the UI College of Public Health, providing immigrants and refugees strategies to manage stress, address their feelings, and strengthen social support. She is a community outreach and event coordinator for Refugee and Immigrant Voice and Action (RIVA).

Rhonda Miller is a board-certified music therapist specializing in hospice care. She works at Iowa City Hospice and is a dedicated gardener.
Dan Peterson is a printmaker, musician, and art teacher at Iowa City High School. Groot serves as an emotional support animal at the school, accompanying Dan’s wife Mary Yagla Peterson, who is a school counselor.
